~ Our Samoyeds ~
Our white fur babies are getting older
now with our youngest being 6-1/2 (not old by any means) and
our oldest being 14 years old. We, also, have a 10-1/2
year old. These are those moments in time we want to
cherish, even more than ever, with our Sammies. We have
been out of the rings, and will continue to be, as we give our
dogs the best we can offer...Our Love and Our Time! At
Dynasty Samoyeds we do not have kennel dogs, nor do we rotate
our dogs in and out of kennels, as our dogs actually live in
our home as family members with us on a day to day basis;
therefore, the number of dogs we can have at any given time is
very limited.
In addition, we spend a great deal of
time doing research into health and medical issues, studying
structure and movement, history and evaluating and observing
different lines before we either breed or add a new Samoyed to
our pack.
Our, Dynasty Samoyeds, dogs are living
longer and healthier lives, but the problem which has most
affected our dogs within in the last year is Cancerous Mammary
Tumors. The latest research and statistics show that
Mammary Tumors are prevalent in a high percentage of female
dogs (all breed & mixed breed) not spayed prior to their first
season, less than 6 months old. and not spayed prior to two
(2) years of age. (See Pam Barbe's Health & Medical Link
on our Health Page on what you can do to assist the research -
Note: Amongst our emotions we did not *think* to save a
sample with one of our girls, and with the other no surgery
was advised.)
